Berners originated in the Switzerland as carting and guardian dogs. Because of their good nature and wonderful temperament they make amazing family dogs.

Coat: 

The Bernese coat requires frequent grooming to release the dead undercoat. They are a shedding breed, and are always tri-coloured (black, white and tan).

Personality:

Berners are very loving and affectionate dogs. A classic trait is sitting on feet, and going between legs. They are very loyal companions and love being with their families.
